What we do

We believe that every child deserves access to quality education. Since 2018, Waves of Education has sponsored 16 children at various boarding and day schools throughout Uganda. We expanded our reach to build a primary school in the village of Galiraya, Uganda in 2022.

We understand that we cannot be successful without involving the local community, that’s why we have partnered with the Little Sisters of St. Francis on all of our initiatives. With established education and health ministries throughout Uganda, the sisters are embedded in the communities and understand the needs of the local Ugandans. They are well positioned as advocates of the people to ensure success.

Are Out of School

Uganda is a small, landlocked country in East Africa. Despite great progress in reducing countrywide poverty, Uganda remains one of the poorest nations in the world. Although there is notable poverty in America, help is available as is government support. We’ve seen firsthand the widespread and extreme poverty in the forgotten villages of Uganda. Basic needs are not met and there is no relief in sight.

Reduces Poverty

If every student in low-income nations were equipped with fundamental reading proficiency, we could potentially elevate a staggering 171 million individuals from the depths of dire poverty.

Improves Health

Those who attain higher levels of education tend to enjoy improved overall health and better nourishment. There exists a positive correlation between education levels and extended life expectancy.

Empowers Communities

Providing a person with a fish sustains them for a day, but imparting the knowledge of fishing empowers them to sustain themselves throughout a lifetime.

Ways to support

If you’re seeking ways to assist children in need, it’s important to understand that even the smallest contributions can make a significant impact. Whether it’s providing a warm blanket, ensuring access to clean water, or donating educational supplies to schools lacking resources, every gesture of support matters.
